What does "standup" mean in programming?

standup is one of the most common terms in software development. This guide explains what it means, how it is used in practice, and why it matters, with real examples from the developer world.

Definition

A short daily meeting (usually 15 minutes) where each team member shares what they did yesterday, what they plan to do today, and any blockers they have. Standups keep teams aligned without long meetings.

Example

"Mention the blocker in the standup so the team can help you unblock it."
