"Record" means to capture data or a single entry in a database. It has nothing to do with memory. For the Spanish "recordar," use "remember" or "recall."

As a verb: to capture or save audio, video, or data. As a noun: a single entry in a database or log.

The common mistake: "Recordar" en español significa traer algo a la memoria. "Record" en inglés no tiene nada que ver con la memoria. Para decir "recordar" usa "remember" o "recall."

"The database record was corrupted — we need to restore it from the backup."
