compromise
"Compromise" means finding a middle ground or, in security, being breached. To say "me comprometo a hacer algo" use "I commit to" or "I promise to."
compromise
As a noun or verb: to reach a middle ground by both sides giving something up. In security: to be breached or put at risk.
The common mistake: "Comprometer" en español puede significar asumir un compromiso ("me comprometo a entregar el viernes") o poner algo en riesgo. En inglés, "compromise" no se usa para hacer promesas. Para comprometerse con algo usa "commit to" o "promise."
"We need to find a compromise on the API design — both teams have valid points."
