What does "1-on-1" mean in programming?

Definition
A regular private meeting between a manager and a direct report, typically 30 to 60 minutes weekly or biweekly. Used to discuss progress, blockers, feedback, and career development. The agenda is usually owned by the direct report, not the manager.
