"Lecture" means a talk or class, not the act of reading. For the Spanish "lectura" (reading) use "reading" in English.

A talk or class given to an audience, usually by an expert or professor. Often used in universities and conferences.
The common mistake: "Lectura" en español es leer un texto. "Lecture" en inglés es escuchar a alguien hablar en una clase o charla. Si dices "I did a lecture of the documentation" sonarás como si diste una clase sobre la documentación, no como si la leíste.
"The conference lecture on distributed systems was so good that the room was standing room only."
