What does "let" mean in programming?

let is one of the most common terms in software development. This guide explains what it means, how it is used in practice, and why it matters, with real examples from the developer world.

Definition

A keyword that declares a block-scoped variable that can be reassigned. Prefer const when you do not need to reassign; use let only when the value must change.

Example

"let count = 0; count += 1; // let allows reassignment"
